THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The College Park High School baseball team managed just two hits in its opener of the Wings ‘N More Classic on Thursday at The Diamonds. But one of those was a pinch-hit, walk-off game-winner by Jayden Holden in the Cavaliers’ 3-2 win over Deer Park.

The game became a pitcher’s duel after both teams tallied twice in the second inning. It was decided in the bottom of the seventh inning when Holden belted a double, chasing home Ryder Lucas, who reached first base with a walk.

Holden’s heroics allowed the Cavaliers (9-3) to extend their win streak to seven games. Jacob Mardick got the win in relief, pitching the seventh inning after a brilliant six innings of mound work from starter Montana Parsons, who scattered seven hits while striking out four.

College Park tied the game, 2-2, in the bottom of the second inning on a wild pitch – scoring Roosevelt Henderson – and a sacrifice fly from Chandler Morris that plated Richie Ramos.

The Cavaliers continue Wings ‘N More Classic play with a doubleheader on Friday at The Diamonds. College Park takes on Flower Mound at 4 p.m. before facing George Ranch at 6:30 p.m.

The event concludes on Saturday with the Cavaliers meeting Allen at 10 a.m. and Georgetown in 5:30 p.m. finale.
