THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The College Park Cavalier baseball team is starting to find its grove and came into Tuesday night’s district game against Lufkin tied atop the district standings with The Woodlands at 3-0.

Lufkin had opportunities in each of the first three innings with runners in scoring position, but Cavalier starting pitcher Beau Ridgeway didn’t allow any hits with Panther runners in scoring position as Lufkin left seven runners on base in those first three innings and 10 total for the game. Ridgeway hasn’t allowed a run in his last 14-innings on the mound.

In the bottom of the third inning, Cavalier catcher Tyler Mortensen singled to score Jacob Mardick and it’s 2-0 College Park.

In the fourth inning with two outs, Noah Vaughn gets a bloop double to left-field scoring Austin Stokes and Justin Heinrich and College Park has a 4-0 lead after four innings.

Beau Ridgeway continued his dominance as he went the complete game only allowing three Lufkin hits with five walks and striking out three to improve his record to 2-0 as a starter as College Park takes it 4-0 over Lufkin.

With the win College Park is now 14-6 overall and 4-0 in district play, tied with The Woodlands as the Cavaliers and Highlanders will get together this Friday night.
