THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Grace School of Theology celebrated the accomplishments of eleven graduates at its annual Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 17.

11 Students Awarded Certificates and Degrees

Now in its 12th year of operation, Grace School of Theology's commencement was held at the Lone Star College Performing Arts Center. Students, their families, faculty and staff filled the auditorium to celebrate and honor the graduates.

Grace School of Theology President, Dr. Dave Anderson, took great pride in introducing this year's commencement speaker, Dr. Elmer Towns. Dr. Towns is a renowned Christian author, publishing more than 100 books. He is a college and seminary professor as well as the co-founder of Liberty University, the largest private, non-profit university in the nation and the largest Christian university in the world.

In his speech, Dr. Towns reminded the graduates that they 'have a good foundation” because of their education and encouraged them to “build [their] life on it.'

"God has a plan for your life," Towns said. "Let's find it and do it."

Following his address, President Anderson presented Dr. Towns with an honorary doctorate from Grace School of Theology.

Among the graduating class were six graduate students receiving their masters’ degrees, four of them graduating with honors, and five students receiving biblical and theological studies certificates.

“I am so grateful for my time at Grace School of Theology,” said Willie Gaines, Masters of Biblical Studies graduate. “The professors have invested in me personally, and I look forward to using what I have learned to now invest in others.”

A short reception for students and their families followed the morning's ceremony.
