OAK RIDGE NORTH, Texas -- It has certainly been a cold January so far but especially cold over in Oak Ridge North at Oak Ridge Christian Academy (ORCA)! The children of ORCA’s Early Learning Academy got to experience snow and snow sledding as part of their January curriculum where some of what they are learning about for January is the color white, snow and snowmen. Headmaster Jess Larson said, “This was such an amazing experience for the children. We were able to bring our classroom learning into real life. This is the only snow that some of these children have and will ever feel! They had such a great time touching the snow, experiencing how it felt and of course snow sledding!”

ORCA’s Early Learning Academy’s Beginnings, Discovery, and Readiness classes all have specialized curriculum full of Bible stories, songs, hands-on crafts, and motor-movement games. Students are taught colors, shapes, numbers, letters, and letter sounds. Students also memorize Bible verses and nursery rhymes throughout the year.

Registration for the fall is now in progress for ORCA’s Early Learning Program. Oak Ridge Christian Academy is located at 27420 Robinson Road. For more information about the ELA program or Oak Ridge Christian Academy, please contact Cassandra Crowe at 281-298-5800.
