AUSTIN - The Woodlands Lady Highlanders softball team sprinted out of the gate into the 2015 regular season this past weekend with a 5-0 start at the Austin Westlake Tournament.
The Woodlands scores a combined 44 runs in first five games
The Woodlands outscored their five opponents: New Braunfels, Westlake, Round Rock Westwood, Plano West, and Waco Midway, by a combined run count of 44-3.
The highlight of the Lady Highlanders was the dominant hitting throughout, but also Emily Langkamp, who tossed a no-hitter and struck out five on Friday, in a 1-0 victory against Plano West.
The Lady Highlanders are currently ranked No. 3 in the state and will open up district play on Tuesday, February 24, at Conroe, at 6pm, weather permitting.
