THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The College Park Cavaliers got a stellar pitching performance from Beau Ridgeway and three RBI’s from Nate Fisbeck en route to a 4-2 home district win over The Woodlands Highlanders on Tuesday night.

College Park wins 12th consecutive game

“You start on the mound, Beau Ridgeway was really good, I’m proud of our offensive approach as Nate (Fisbeck) has been hot, but other guys are stepping up. This is a good win over The Woodlands, but it’s a district win and this group understands that every win, every run is important,” said Cavaliers Head Coach Jason Washburn.

College Park (13-1, 2-0) fell behind 2-0 to the Highlanders in the top of the second inning when Nick White and Casey Stokes scored off a Cavaliers error, giving the Highlanders an early lead.

The Cavaliers would then showcase why they’re unbeaten in the month of March, as they responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame when Austin Stokes hit a single to left field, scoring Ryan Dufrene to make it a 2-1 game. Nate Fisbeck (player of the game) then stepped up to the plate and smacked a two-run home run over the fence in the left-center to give College Park a 3-2 lead.

The Highlanders kept the Cavaliers in check at the plate after Fisbeck’s home run for the next three innings as Devin Fontenot gave up just four hits and one earned run, while striking out four over the next 4 1/3-innings.

The Woodlands (7-6-1, 1-1) had opportunities to counter, including in the top of the seventh with the bases loaded, however Cavaliers starting pitcher Beau Ridgeway had a spectacular outing, going the full seven innings and scattering just four hits, one earned run, while striking out 10 Highlander batters as Ridgeway never allowed the Highlander bats to get going.

College Park puts their 12-game winning streak on the line on Friday, March 27, when the Cavaliers travel to Oak Ridge at 7pm.

The Woodlands will host Atascocita in a rescheduled game tomorrow at 7pm, before taking a break from district play to face Pearland on Friday, March 27.
