Rodriguez, offense soar past Conroe

CONROE, Texas - The Oak Ridge Lady War Eagles softball team showcased pitching and offense on Thursday night en route to a 16-0 district road win in four innings over Conroe on Thursday night.

Oak Ridge (19-6, 5-3) got a no-hit pitching performance from starter Jessica Rodriguez, as well as 17 hits in four innings as the Lady War Eagles scored in every inning.

Leading the way for Oak Ridge was LSU-commit Amber Serrett, as she went 3-for-3 with four RBI’s and a run scored. Autumn Sydlik also had a great night going 2-for-2 with three RBI’s and two runs scored, as the Lady War Eagles teamed up for 12 RBI’s in their 17 total hits.

Oak Ridge is in sole possession of fourth place in the district at 5-3, just 1.5-games back of first place. Oak Ridge will have their chance to stake their claim to a higher seed in their final four district games, the Lady War Eagles will host Atascocita and The Woodlands.

The Lady War Eagles look to begin their ascent in the district standings as they host Atascocita on Tuesday, April 7, at 6:30pm.
