THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The College Park Cavaliers were kept off balance at the plate by Mitchell Johnson of Atascocita, as the Cavaliers managed just three hits in a 5-1 home district loss on Friday night.

College Park (15-3, 5-2) struggled all night at the plate, going just 3-for-24 and scoring a season-low one run in the game. Colin Cameron collected the lone RBI for the Cavaliers in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring Aaron Perkins.

Air Force-commit Tyler Mortenson went six innings for College Park, giving up just six hits, two earned runs and striking out three. The Cavaliers gave up three unearned runs to the Eagles as they committed three errors.

With the loss, the Cavaliers find themselves now two-games behind Oak Ridge for first place in District 16-6A.

The Cavaliers won’t have to wait long to try to get back on the right track, as they’ll host Waltrip in a non-district game on Saturday, April 11, at 2pm.
