THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Legacy’s varsity football team took their first win Friday night against Fellowship Academy! During the first home game of the season, the Lions fought together as a team and won the game at 49-32.

Fellowship had the lead during the halftime break at 8-12, but Legacy ran in three touchdowns by the end of the third quarter, putting the score at 29-20. Sophomore Casen Hutton scored his first touchdown of the year at the beginning of the quarter.

“I think we had a good game,” says Hutton. “We’re going to rest up during the bye week and focus on winning our first division game.”

Junior Ryan May and senior Ben Bargainer ran in three more touchdowns during the last quarter. Bargainer ran over 160 yards throughout the game, and scored two touchdowns and two, two-point conversions.

Quarterback Jared May thought the team played well. “Everyone contributed very well and intensity was alive the entire time.”

May is looking forward to the upcoming district games. Legacy’s next game is September 25th, and starts at 7pm. Come watch the Lions play against St. Joseph, at their second home game of the season.
