MainStreet America presents Lights of Hope event

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Not only will snow fall on Main Street this year…but all 12 MainStreet America showcase decorated homes are supporting 11 charitable organizations for the first-ever Lights of Hope event. One of the 11 participating charities will be awarded a $10,000 check for its outdoor lighting décor. Homes are open every Saturday evening from November 28 – December 19 from 6 – 9 p.m. with the Lights of Hope award presented on December 19 to the home with the most votes.

The 11 participating charities include: Interfaith Ministries of the Woodlands; Helping A Hero; Susan G. Komen; Bread of Life Ministries; Houston SPCA; New Danville; Bridgewood Farms; Relay for Life; Hope (Batten's Disease); American Heart Association and Friends of Texas Wildlife. Supporting one of the 11 charities is easy. Simply tour the homes and cast your vote with a $1 donation. All donations are given directly to each of the participating charities. The charity with the most votes will also receive a $10,000 donation check from MainStreet America.

A walk down MainStreet America is an inspiring experience any time of the year, offering the most innovative and state-of-the art in home design, construction, appliances, flooring, decoration and furniture. Pair it with magic of the holidays and visitors will have a holiday experience like none other. MainStreet America is a must-see attraction for Houstonians and visitors alike and in addition to the Lights of Hope event, MainStreet America is pulling out all the stops with a flurry of holiday happenings Saturday evenings from November 28th – December 19, including nightly snow flurries, s’mores over an outdoor fire, outdoor lights synchronized to music, visits with Santa and more.

Each Saturday from November 28 – December 19 Santa and Mrs. Claus are busy from sunrise to sunset. Enjoy breakfast with Santa or a picture with him at night while Mrs. Claus strolls The Park at MainStreet America, occasionally stopping for story time in one of the beautiful MainStreet America homes. Children can enjoy a host of holiday activities, including holiday films and even a ride on the MainStreet America Express train.
