Celebration of Excellence Gala committee co-chairs announced

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The Woodlands Celebration of Excellence is excited to announce Dr. Stephen Head, and his wife Linda, have been selected as the Honorary Co-Chairs for the 2016 gala. Dr. Stephen Head is the Chancellor of Lone Star College Systems and Linda Head is the Associate Vice Chancellor, Workforce Education and Corporate Partnerships.

“We are honored that Chancellor Stephen Head and wife, Linda have agreed to serve as the Honorary Co-Chairs for this event that recognizes outstanding volunteers who through their leadership go above and beyond to make The Woodlands the unique, loving and caring community we all adore. The Heads are excellent role models of servant leaders and Interfaith is grateful to have their support,” said Missy Herndon, President and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands. Proceeds from the gala benefit Interfaith of The Woodlands.

“Linda and I are excited to be named the Honorary Chairs of the Hometown Heroes Celebration. We are so proud to be a part of an event that brings the community together to recognize and honor selfless volunteers who lead by example while benefitting the many community programs and services of Interfaith of The Woodlands,” shared Dr. Steve Head.

The 2016 Hometown Hero honorees will be inducted into the Hometown Heroes Hall of Fame during the gala. The Woodlands Celebration of Excellence, presented by Woodforest National Bank, will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2016. The “Night in the Orient” themed event, co-chaired by Jenny Coyle and Mary Kathryn D’Agostino, will be held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center beginning at 6:00 pm.

Nomination forms for the 2016 Hometown Heroes will be available in The Villager newspaper starting June 13, Interfaith of The Woodlands, located at 4242 Interfaith Way, or online now at www.woodlandsinterfaith.org. The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, August 5, 2016 by 5:00 pm.
