From Coach Josh Childers: This was an incredibly hard-fought football game against a very talented Trinity Valley team, on the road, in the rain and the mud, which will undoubtedly go down as the biggest win in the history of The John Cooper School football program. With this win, Cooper has clinched our spot in the SPC 3A Championship Game. Defensively, we had our first shut out of the season and held them to just 77 total offensive yards. Gerald Caraway III led an outstanding effort by the defensive line while Jake Peterson was a disruptive force all night from his outside linebacker position, coming up with two sacks and a forced fumble. Matt Krehbiel and Cameron Reed also gave outstanding defensive performances, Krehbiel with an interception and Reed in the offensive backfield all night long. Rob DeLoit and Logan Leax were also outstanding from their Safety positions, allowing only 43 total passing yards all game. The highlight of the defensive performance was a goal line stand with under a minute left in the first half. Offensively, we were able to get contributions from numerous players to overcome the extremely difficult field conditions. The offensive line had an outstanding game, especially in the run game. Despite the adverse conditions, Logan Leax and Thomas Elkhoury were still able to make enough big plays to get the job done, and Jake Peterson and Cameron Reed filled in admirably after Ben DeLoit had to exit the game. This was an outstanding team win that was the result of amazing effort all week from each player on the team and the leadership of the senior class.

We are looking forward to Senior Night on Friday, November 2 and we hope to see everyone come out and support the class of 2019! Go Dragons!

Next up for Dragon Football:
