THE WOODLANDS, TX – St. Patrick’s day dawned dark and gloomy – typical Irish weather for this time of year – but fortunately things are already turning around, weather wise, and we’ll have a slightly drier weekend.

The clocks may have gone forward, but we’ve fallen back to winter

By the time you’re wrapping up lunch, the rains should have dwindled to a memory. The clouds, too, will clear up about halfway. Ironically, this, combined with rising pressure and lowering humidity, will raise our temperatures to the point that we’ll hit our high of 58 in the evening. If you’re wondering how to best celebrate St. Patrick’s Day tonight, check out this list of ideas. As the night progresses, the clouds will make a return with maybe some sporadic overnight rains.

By the time Saturday morning rouses us from our beds, the skies will be filled horizon to horizon with clouds. The rain chances are at a minimum, but the brisk winds from the day before will have died down, and we should end up with a calm, cool, cloudy day with a high that will barely make it into the mid 50s. Think about taking advantage of the coolness with some outdoor music fun at Waterway Nights. The clouds will keep up overnight and through most of the next day.

For Sunday, we’ll be waking up to temps that will just then be hitting the ‘overnight’ low of 40. The clouds will hang around as the winds return just a bit. The rising pressure will hit its peak in the early afternoon, and a few hours after that we’ll reach our high of 57. This is your final chance to catch this year’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, so leave the driving to the Township as you take The Woodlands Express Rodeo Shuttle down for closing ceremonies. The coolness and dampness will amplify at night as we head for a low all the way down in the mid 30s.

Though this is the final weekend of winter, next week’s forecast doesn’t bode well for an early spring, as the coolness and wetness continue…
