THE WOODLANDS, TX – The staff at The Richard Rival, MD Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Memorial Hermann Hospital - The Woodlands celebrated Halloween in style.

“The first Halloween is the sweetest,” said Drew Munhausen, senior communications specialist at Memorial Hermann, told Woodlands Online. “Some of the tiniest patients at our NICU experienced their very first Halloween costume – and it was a real treat for the eyes.”

NICU staff enjoyed creating memorable moments for the patient families by helping them dress up their newborn babies in hand-crafted costumes, including a candy corn, lady bug, bumble bee, hula girl, Pac Man, and Disney characters for this fall holiday.

“Parent and family bonding with all babies, especially more fragile ones like in the NICU, is an essential part of healthy healing and growing. This is just a heart-warming part of their NICU journey to graduation home,” said Munhausen.
