SPRING, Texas -- MainStreet America, the nation’s only year-round Parade of Showcase Homes, will host its 2nd annual Family Fun Day benefitting Texas Children’s Hospital on Sat., March 22 from 10 am to 4 pm.

“This one-day festival is a wonderful opportunity for MainStreet America to provide a venue for the number of charities we support including Texas Children’s Hospital and give back to the community,” said Michael Feigin, founder and CEO of MainStreet America. Throughout the day, there are numerous activities for families to enjoy including face painting, balloon artists, games, contests and giveaways as well as a block party, complete with a DJ. Children will also be able to explore the inside of an ambulance with Texas Children’s Hospital’s Kangaroo Crew or tour a fire truck from Spring Volunteer Fire Department Station #71. Neighborhood first responders including the Harris County Sheriff’s Office will also be on hand to provide valuable safety tips to parents and kids. Tired after all of the activities? Families can take a break and catch a ride on the MainStreet Express train to tour the 14-acre site.

Feigin wants to remind parents that Family Fun Day is not just for kids. While at MainStreet America, guests can tour the grounds, which boast 12 different demonstration homes and discover the latest trends in home products, furniture and décor. Additionally, visitors can enjoy signature and seasonal dishes at MAIN Restaurant, situated inside the Guest Center. Reservations at MAIN Restaurant are not required, but strongly encouraged. Patrons can make reservations in advance.

According to Doug Mason, events manager for MainStreet America, “Family Fun Day is a great event to help Texas Children’s Hospital and raise awareness about children’s illnesses. The more children people bring to the event, the more children we will be able to help. It’s a win-win situation for all.”

The event is open to the public and will be held rain or shine. Admission costs $15 for adults and $5 for children ages four to 15. Parking is free. The proceeds raised from the sale of every child’s ticket will directly benefit Texas Children’s Hospital.
