Camp Training (Mandatory): Monday, May 20 to Friday, May 24, 2024, AND Friday, July 5, 2024

Summer Camp: Tuesday, May 28 to Tuesday, August 13, 2024

Hours: Monday through Friday; 40 hours per week between hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Weekends off.

Summary of Duties:
• Camp Counselors are responsible for planning, conducting, and leading activities while interacting, and maintaining safety of participants in daily programs and activities. Work is performed under immediate supervision with exercise of judgement in accordance with established policies, procedures, and techniques. This position is a temporary seasonal position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for providing direct supervision to children while executing daily activities in an engaging manner to include but not limited to games, supervising swimming, special events, arts and crafts, and team building.
• Display appropriate behavior, and create a safe, inclusive environment of all campers and staff.
• Responsible for checking facilities, equipment, and reporting any issues to the Head Camp Counselor.
• Ensures safe and proper use of group equipment and materials. Ensure that equipment is returned to the storage area in its original condition and put back in an organized manner.
• Responsible for the performing of general cleaning duties to include but not limited to trash pickup, sweeping, mopping, and room disinfection.
• Complete a variety of records and forms, such as incident and first aid reports, as needed.
• Assist the Head Camp Counselor in responding to parent inquires or comments.
• Responsible for enforcing policies, procedures, and safety rules.
• Respond to and take care of circumstances requiring first aid.
• Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work schedule is essential.
• Required to attend all orientation meetings and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills Required

Knowledge of: A variety of indoor and outdoor recreational and athletic activities; basic arts & crafts skills
Skills: Ability to communicate effectively w/ children, adults, and other staff. Ability to swim 25 yds. & tread water for 30 secs. preferred not required.
Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver's License. Ability to pass CPR / First Aid certification training.

Compensation:

$12.16 Hourly
