College Park boys win Oak Ridge Invite

OAK RIDGE NORTH, Texas – The College Park High School boys’ cross country team captured the Oak Ridge Invitational on Saturday. The Cavaliers had a score of 20, easing past second-place Oak Ridge (50) in the eight-team field.

Conroe took third place with a score of 84 with Klein Collins (146), and Tomball (153) rounding out the top five teams.

Connor Meaux took individual honors, crossing the finish line first in a time of 16 minutes, 8.46 seconds. Chris Williams (16:11), Colton Brehm (16:30), and Tanner Maloney (16:31) ran third, fourth and fifth respectively while Walter Sagehorn (16:38) finished seventh. Colton Nettleton (16:51) and Luis Nieto (17:55) ran ninth and 15th in order for the Cavaliers.

Oak Ridge ran in a tight group with Luis Alvarez (16:36) and Juan Alvarez (16:43) racing sixth and eighth respectively to lead the way. Zach LaDoe (17:13) finished 11th and Matt Wagner (17:28), Barry King (17:49), Gustavo Sanchez (18:07) and Tyler Smith (18:17) following in 13th, 14th, 16th and 17th in order.
