“We have just experienced rainfall in historical proportions,” said Township Chairman Ed Robb. “Our Fire Department is working tirelessly in assisting our residents, particularly in the areas of Timarron Park.”
After rains hit the area on Thursday and Friday, many rivers across Southeast Texas are currently in flood stages. Locations along Spring Creek are forecast to approach levels observed in the October 1994 floods when the creek crested at 111 feet. However, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Spring Creek is not expected to exceed October 1994 levels. The Administration anticipates Spring Creek to crest near 109 feet this evening.
“Residents are encouraged to avoid flooded areas if possible or exercise extreme caution if travel in the vicinity of these areas is necessary,” Chairman Robb said.
