THE WOODLANDS, Texas – With school officially in session, it is a good time to sign the kids up for fall programs with the Township Parks and Recreation Department. Many programs start the week after Labor Day and registration is now open. Signature favorites are back for 2016, including ballet, introductory preschool sports, youth fencing, karate, engineering, architecture, cooking, i9 Sports, tennis, bicycle skills classes and more.

Some new programs have been added to the schedule this season, including Road to Elite Sports Programs that encompass strength and conditioning programs for preschool and youth, teaching the fundamentals and mechanics of seven different sports in one class. New running programs will be offered this fall, helping kids establish speed and endurance. Afterschool cultural learning courses are also offered, along with some weekly afterschool-themed workshops, including Spooky Science Week!

A complete listing of the programs offered this fall can be found in the Action Guide, available online on the Township website, www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/actionguide, and as a pull-out section of the September 2016 issue of The Woodlands Community Magazine, mailed to all homes in The Woodlands.

For those unfamiliar with the registration process for these programs, The Woodlands Township Recreation Center staff is happy to help. Whether it’s setting up online accounts, assisting with registration or just answering questions, please feel free to call 281-210-3950, email recreation@thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov, or stop by the Recreation Center at 5310 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands, Texas 77381.
