THE WOODLANDS, TX – Happy Thanksgiving from Woodlands Online! We know that Thanksgiving is about more than just communal spirit and fellowship for family and friends; it’s also about the tryptophan coma that Thanksgiving dinners can give you. Much like Christmas morning after the presents are all ripped open, there’s a danger of post-fun boredom setting in.

There are plenty of options to enjoy all day and evening long

So, in order to shake off the sleepies and reenergize the brain cells and also get some of your holiday steps in, here are a few things you can do Thursday afternoon and evening… plus one special early morning event if you need to kill some time before chowing down on a drumstick. Just click on the links to find all the details you need.

Montgomery County Texas Toys for Tots Drop Off at America's ER Medical Center

America's ER + Urgent Care will be collecting toys again this year for Montgomery County Texas Toys for Tots! We want to get a head-start so bring in your new, unwrapped toys, into either location, beginning now until December 15th!

Stock the Sleigh at Montgomery County Food Bank

We welcome you to join us as an Ornament Fundraiser location! Donors/employees can scan the QR code on the ornament to make a donation directly to the Food Bank, and then fill out their ornament to be displayed on your Christmas tree, windows, walls - wherever! We will add your company name to the donation site so donors can select where they donated, and we can track how much your organization raised for the Food Bank.

The Ice Rink at The Woodlands

The Woodlands Township invites residents and visitors alike to enjoy The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center this holiday season . The 21,000-square-foot permanent multipurpose facility features ice skating in a main room with lighting, a state-of-the-art sound system, tables for parties and concessions.

Annual Toy Drive at Hughes & Cozad Orthodontics

Celebrate the Holidays with Hughes & Cozad Orthodontics Annual Toy Drive. All donations benefit The Texas Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House. Toys will be going to children, from infant to 20-years old. Donations must be new and unwrapped. Just for being so generous, patients that donate will earn 25 points on their Owlbert’s Loot or Little Hoots card. Six lucky winners will also win a drawing for a $50 gift card.

…AND a special pre-dinner morning event!

If you’re up early on Thanksgiving morning and have nothing better to do, strap on your running shoes and head over to The Woodlands Family YMCA at Shadowbend for the 2023 Run Thru The Woods. This local Thanksgiving morning tradition has supported local non-profits with the goal of strengthening The Woodlands community for over 30 years. The event brings thousands of community members together for entertainment and run/walks designed for all ages. Whether you’re a veteran runner or participating in your first race, they have an event for you, including a 3-mile run, 5-mile run, 3-mile walk, and 1-Mile Kids Race. Strollers are welcomed. Start time is at 7:30 a.m. at the Start/Finish Line located on Lake Robbins in front of the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands. Presented by Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands.
