THE WOODLANDS, TX – City Place is celebrating International Women's Day and Women's History month with a pair of activities taking place in early March.

On the evening of March 7, The Plaza welcomes Community Consciousness, a female-centric event incorporating a grounding and meditation activity, yoga, a sharing circle, plus food and beverage vendors.

Beginning the next day on March 8, visitors can experience the beauty of diversity and resilience at “Threads of Time: Sewn Through Generations” – curated by City Place resident Denise Zimmermann, PhD. Through the lens of fashion, the unique exhibit spotlights the perspective of five women representing five generations – The Silent Generation, The Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z. Each participant was given the same dress to reinterpret based on her perspective of the corresponding generation. To accompany the fascinating results, an accompanying commentary will describe the strengths, struggles, celebrations, and restrictions each felt their generations were confronted with and were able to overcome.

Both events are open to the public and free of charge. Community Consciousness takes place at City Place Plaza, 1250 Lake Plaza Drive on March 7 from 7 - 9 p.m. Threads of Time: Sewn Through Generations takes place at 1700 City Plaza Drive lobby (located behind Common Bond) March 8–21, weekdays from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
