THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Class Act Productions presents "PETER PAN" July 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21 at the Nancy Bock Center for Performing Arts (at McCollough Junior High), 3800 S. Panther Creek Drive, The Woodlands.

First produced on Broadway with Mary Martin and Cyril Richard and more recently a major hit starring Cathy Rigby, "PETER PAN" is one of the world's most celebrated musicals. Here is all the charm of J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy, Michael and John, pirates and Indians, embellished with show-stopping songs, "Never Never Land", "I Won't Grow Up" and "I'm Flying".

The show's Director, Class Act Productions Founder and President, Keith Brumfield, shared, "What makes 'PETER PAN' so special is that it has something for everyone. Great songs, lots of action, stunning flying. Audiences will leave the show with a smile on their faces and a song in their hearts."

The talented cast of over 80 mostly local student actors has been rehearsing since May, learning some new stage skills that make the show extra special. To enhance the many exciting action scenes in the show, Class Act brought in Bryce Ballew, a certified stage fight choreographer, to assist. Under Mr. Ballew's expert hand, Peter, Hook, Wendy, Michael, John, the Lost Boys and the Pirates all learned the art of stage fighting, sure to make their many scuffles seem -- and sound! -- believable.

To heighten the feeling of being transported to Neverland, the show contains many amazing flying scenes. How is it done? ZFX Flying Effects is the company that provides the "pixie dust" - they are flying experts who have assisted Class Act with prior flying shows including Tarzan and Wizard of Oz. In addition to providing the equipment and setting up the rigging required for flying, they help with the flying choreography and train the actors to fly.

Jenny Gee, the sophomore at The Woodlands College Park High School who will be playing Peter, commented, "Flying is so much harder than it looks! But, by the time the show opens, I hope to make it seem effortless!" Faith Fryer, The Woodlands High School senior who will be playing Wendy, is excited to see her stage experience come full circle with this show, "This is so much fun because when I was 11, I played Jane, Wendy's daughter, in a production of Peter Pan. It is a dream come true to come back and play Wendy!"

"PETER PAN" is under the direction of Keith Brumfield, with Tina Kraft as his Assistant Director. The show is choreographed by Fayla Curry, a veteran Class Act choreographer as well as a dance teacher at Klein Oak High School. Rae Moses, choir director of The John Cooper School, is the Musical Director.

Performances will be hosted on July 12, 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m., and July 13, 14 and 21 at 2:30 p.m.. All performances are at the Nancy Bock Center for Performing Arts (at McCollough Junior High). Tickets range in price from $12 - $30 and can be purchased online at the link below.
