THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- World Autism Awareness Day is Saturday, April 1, 2017.

Throughout the entire month of April, the Young Learners Group will be supporting and shining a light on Autism. Coming together with thousands of organizations, all over the world, to Light It Up Blue, #LIUB!

On Friday, March 31st, each of the three facilities will deck the halls in blue with lights, decor, handprints and puzzle pieces. Staff, parents and students will also be encouraged to wear blue to show support and we’ll all gather for our annual #LIUB photo. In addition, we will be going BLUE throughout the entire day. Blue food, blue milk, blue crafts, blue sand play, blue toys and lots of puzzles. The children, at all three centers, will be surrounded by blue activities and fun all day long!

To raise money for Autism research, the Young Learners Group has partnered with local business, Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt The Woodlands (Indian Springs Shopping Center), to host Light it Up Blue Spirit Nights, every Friday in April. During the hours of 3:00-6:00 PM, Orange Leaf will donate 15% of purchases to Autism Speaks, for autism research and awareness. In addition, they will host a prize wheel ($2 for 1 spin, $5 for 3 spins) giving 100% of those proceeds to autism Speaks for autism research and awareness.

The Young Learners Group is currently made up of three facilities - The Learning Lane, The Woodlands Young Learners Academy and Linder Young Learners Academy, with a fourth location opening soon, in Oak Ridge.
