Young Learners Group to 'light it up blue' to support Autism awareness

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — World Autism Awareness Day is Saturday, April 2, 2016. Throughout the entire month of April, the Young Learners Group will be supporting and shining a light on Autism.

Coming together with thousands of organizations, all over the world, to Light It Up Blue, #LIUB! On Friday, April 1st, each of the three facilities will deck the halls in blue with lights, decor, handprints and puzzle pieces. Staff, parents and students will also be encouraged to wear blue to show support and we’ll all gather for our annual #LIUB photo. In addition, we will be going BLUE throughout the entire day. Blue food, blue milk, blue crafts, blue sand play, blue toys and lots of puzzles. The children, at all three centers, will be surrounded by blue activities and fun all day long!

To raise money for Autism research, the Young Learners Group will be once again participating in ‘Kids and Coins for Autism,' an initiative where students will have the opportunity to collect coins to help those affected by autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Their support will help raise funds toward public awareness, safety from wandering, bully awareness, family crisis assistance, job training, housing and research. By participating in Kids and Coins for Autism, students learn that they can make a difference in the lives of others. {In 2015, we were able to raise $1,239.12 through our ‘Kids and Coins for Autism’ campaign!} www.autismspeaks.org

About the Young Learners Group:

The Young Learners Group is currently made up of three facilities ­ The Learning Lane, The Woodlands Young Learners Academy and Linder Young Learners Academy, with a fourth location opening this Fall, in Oak Ridge. Our group is unique because we are locally owned and operated! We are very excited to break ground and to bring a full service private preschool for children from 6 weeks through Pre K and after school programs, to the Oak Ridge area.
