February Fun with North Houston's City Place

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The New Year is off to a festive start at north Houston’s City Place, where visitors can laissez les bons temps rouler during an annual Fat Tuesday celebration, take advantage of ongoing health and wellness programming, give kids a leg up on the competition and show that special someone how much they’re loved with a special meal, romantic stay or handcrafted Valentine’s Day card. Programming takes place on and around the community’s central Plaza at 1250 Lake Plaza Drive – Spring, TX 77389.

As part of its ongoing 5^th anniversary celebration, the Houston City Place Marriott is a hosting a complimentary Valentine’s Day Cardmaking station in partnership with City Place creative social club, Oiler Studio. Guests of all ages are invited to stop by the lobby on February 5 from noon to 2 pm (while supplies last) to craft a special keepsake. It’s the perfect stop before or after lunch at the hotel’s popular SwitcHouse Plates & Pours restaurant, where your tastebuds are sure to fall in love with a menu showcasing locally sourced, house smoked meats.

Throughout the month, romance is in the air at the AAA Four Diamond hotel. Treat your sweet to a night of pampering with a Valentine’s Getaway that pairs a night in a stylish guestroom along with a dine around that includes dinner at modern Japanese hotspot – and Uptown Sushi sibling – Sushi Rebel and dessert at Common Bond Bistro & Bakery.

On February 13 from 6-8 pm, the annual Fat Tuesday on The Plaza brings Mardi Gras to a close with a showcase of live jazz music from Hollimon’s New Orleans Style Band, free King Cake provided by Common Bond Bistro & Bakery (while supplies last) and food truck Gumbo X-Press selling its luscious Louisiana-style fare.

Soccer Shots is kicking off the year with engaging kids camps that focus on building sport skills and developing character. Available for children ages 2-3 at 4:30 pm and ages 3-5 at 5:10 pm, the paid camps include seventeen sessions that take place every Monday through May.
