SPRING, TX -- Spring is in full swing at north Houston’s City Place, where a range of mostly free and family friendly programming sets the stage for a festive April on and around the central Plaza at 1250 Lake Plaza Drive – Spring, TX 77389.

The month kicks off with Pix On The Plaza on April 6 at 7:45 pm, featuring a free outdoor screening of beloved Pixar movie, Toy Story. Guests can embark on a heartwarming adventure with pals Woody and Buzz, while enjoying complimentary pizza from Pizza Planet and popcorn while supplies last. Low profile chairs and picnic blankets are welcomed.

Mr. Leo Puppet Show creates an unforgettable, playful and imaginative adventure for children during free, interactive performances incorporating puppets, marionettes and magic on April 7, 11 and 14 at 11 am and noon. The April series begins with a special traveling puppet bus experience on the 7th.

On April 13 from 10-11 am, join AndyRoo on a complimentary musical journey to the AndyRooniverse — a magical town created by the ever-expanding landscape of children’s imaginations. The show is immediately followed by the always-popular Texas Bubblers who will wave their wands to create eye-catching bubbles as large as 10-feet-wide during complimentary demonstrations on April 13 from 11 am to 1 pm.

Children ages 3-7 years old can learn basic techniques of various dances with Tippie Toes everyday Wednesday of the month – April 3, 10, 17 and 24 – from 5:30-6:15 pm. The upbeat sessions will cover the foundations of ballet, tap, and jazz, while also encouraging self-expression and creativity. Sessions are fee-based, and registration is required via https://dancestudio-pro.com/online/classes.php?account_id=15608.

Soccer Shots returns to The Plaza every Monday – April 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 – with workshops that build on sport skills and character development. Fee-based classes for ages 2-3 years take place from 5-5:30 pm, followed by ages 3-5 years from 5:40-6:15 pm. Register at https://woodlands.soccershots.com/search?txt=City%20Place.

A long-standing City Place favorite, complimentary Yoga on the Plaza takes place every Saturday – April 6, 13, 20 and 27 – at 10 am. The one-hour experience includes a mediation element and is the perfect way to jump start the weekend with the picturesque City Place Park waterfront as its backdrop.

Must-see pop up art installation – and perfect senior picture spot – Periwinkle from Dallas-based creators The Color Condition is on display and free of charge through June. The expansive piece, spanning from The Plaza across City Place Park’s main bridge, blends vibrant colors, patterns and movement to create fantastical realms reminiscent of Candyland, Peter Pan, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Guests are encouraged to share their visits by following @CityPlaceNow on Instagram and tagging #MyPeriwinklePic for a chance to win a $100 gift card to a City Place restaurant. Winners will be announced via social media on April 1 and 15.
