THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Strykers played a scheduled double header today with the Texas Marshals. The Strykers were unable to come away victorious in either game losing the first by a score of 4-0, and the second 5-4.

During the first of the two matchups the Strykers were stung by a four run third inning from the Marshals. The starting pitcher for the Strykers, Braden Zarbinksy, got through the first two innings unscathed before giving the four runs on five hits in the third. Relief pitcher Chad Romere came in to shut out the Marshals for the rest of the game but the Strykers offense was unable to capitalize on a pair of two hit nights from Luke Shirley and Colton Parrish.

In the second game of the double header the Strykers started J.T. Jakubik who went five and two-thirds innings and struck out seven. The Strykers were able to score first off a sacrifice fly by Patrick King in the third inning. The Marshals drew even in the top half of the fourth inning before they pulled away in the sixth with a four runs making the score to 5-1. The Strykers fell just short of a come-back but were able to add three runs in the ninth, two of which came off a RBI double by pinch hitter Nkosi Djehuti-Mes, to push the score to its final of 5-4.

Come out tomorrow, June 21, to see the Strykers wrap up the series against the Marshals with first pitch scheduled for 7:05.
