Each day the students will learn the key elements and history of filmmaking as they work together to create a film worthy of an Oscar!
Key Skills:
Narrative Storytelling - Develop story ideas, structure, and character arcs for engaging films.
Directing - Guide actors and crew to bring creative vision to life.
Storyboarding - Visually plan shots and sequences to streamline filming.
Editing - Use video editing software to refine and arrange footage.
Special Effects - Experiment with green screens and effects to enhance films.
Collaboration - Work with peers to brainstorm, film, and produce a creative project.
Camp Breakdown
Day 1 - Filmmaking 101
Jumping right into the action, students will participate in hands-on activities to learn key skills in cinematography, editing, and directing! They will then end the day with a lesson on green screens, and begin preparations to make their own films the following camp days!
Day 2 - Making Your Short Film
In this production session, students will collaborate to brainstorm, storyboard, and shoot their very own 2-5 minute short films! Their films can be about anything they want! Hotdog Superhero VS Evil Taco? We've seen it all at Creator Camp, and we are all for it! Students will be given hands-on help in editing their films to really bring them to life!
Day 3 - Post Production and Trailers
Day three is the most exciting yet! Students will begin by finishing up their films from the previous days. They will delve into post-production, color correcting and adding intro's and end credits. Anticipation will build as they prepare for the Creator Camp Oscars!
