Aspiring zoologists will create a custom field guide to the snakes of Montgomery County while observing—and safely handling—live specimens throughout the week. Campers will be trained in the proper use of snake hooks and tongs to responsibly guide snakes into capture devices. In addition to snakes, students will explore turtles and tortoises, amphibians, arthropods, and select mammals. Campers will also learn wildlife-filming techniques used in real documentaries, gaining insight into how animals are ethically captured and recorded for educational YouTube content.
