The importance of civic engagement and citizenship will be the focus of an afternoon program presented by the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County.
“Together! We the People” will be at Sam Houston State University—The Woodlands Center, 3380 College Park Drive (Fourth Floor), The Woodlands. The event is free, but tickets are recommended. Author and educator Lindsey Cormack will be the keynote speaker. Her book, “How to Raise a Citizen (and Why It’s Up to You to Do It),” was published in 2024.
There will also be a panel of people who are active in local issues, discussing why and how to get involved in local politics.
Then, the winner of the first-ever Together! high school essay contest has been invited to read the winning piece.
