A luminous and intimate holiday concert
Immerse yourself in the warmth and color of Italian Baroque concertos by Vivaldi, Torelli, Corelli, and more. These luminous works grew from a Roman Christmas tradition, where composers evoked the sound of shepherds’ pipes and rustic dances through lilting rhythms and glowing string textures. The result is joyful, elegant music filled with conversation between soloists and ensemble and ending in the gentle pastorale that became a sound of the season.
This concert is made possible in part by ConocoPhillips, Neighborhood Series Premiere Sponsor, as well as the Houston Endowment, the Brown Foundation, the Cullen Trust for the Performing Arts, the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance, and by supporters like you.
