Vintage Alto Saxophone
Vintage Elkhart Alto Saxophone, Built by Buescher in Elkhart, Indiana, USA. It is a model 20A, serial #59295, manufactured in 1953. My family has owned this saxophone since the mid-1950s. My older brother played it, then I did from elementary school through high school in the 1960s. About 5 years ago, I had all the pads replaced and the springs tested and replaced as required. The neck was also re-corked where the mouthpiece attaches. The brass is a little scratched up, and the lacquer is missing in a few places, but it is in good shape considering the age. It still has the original case, which is pretty beat up on the outside but has the nice felt lining inside that you don't find in cases nowadays.
I spent over $700 to get it back in playing shape, and it plays great. We are downsizing, and I don't play it much anymore, so I am willing to let it go for $350.
