Offered here is the complete set of all ten volumes — the standard reference work on American colonial and Federal-period furniture, and the one serious collectors and dealers still reach for. Complete sets are considerably harder to find than the loose individual volumes, and this one is in excellent condition throughout.
Condition: Red leatherette boards with bright gilt lettering to cover and spine; bindings tight and square. Original white dust jackets present on all ten volumes. Some jackets show only light shelf wear, Vol 5 cover shows some wear; Other volumes in excellent condition. All volumes, pages clean and unmarked.
About the set: Profusely illustrated with hundreds of color and black-and-white plates documenting masterpieces of American furniture and decorative arts. Volume IX covers the Diplomatic Reception Rooms of the U.S. Department of State, and Volume X includes "The Best of Wendell Garrett" essays plus a full index to Volumes 1–10. An authoritative and heavily-used reference for anyone studying or collecting early American furniture.
