Description

Extraordinary antique late 19th or early 20th-century European porcelain lidded urn/centerpiece decorated in the classic Royal Vienna style. This exquisite heirloom piece features a rich ruby red ground accented by an intricate gold-gilt overlay, dual ornate dolphin/sea-serpent handles, and a raised "jeweled" turquoise and ruby enamel dot collar. The center showcases a hand-painted or fine-transfer classical mythological scene with allegorical lovers in an outdoor landscape.

The base features the original hand-painted factory decorator/pattern numbers ("15" and "6") in iron-red script. Those tiny, hand-painted orange-red numbers ("15" and "6") are classic 19th-century European porcelain marks. They represent the original factory pattern numbers, mold numbers, or specific decorator/gilder IDs used to log pieces before they went into the firing kiln.

Origin: European (Austria/Germany/Bohemia) Excellent antique condition. No cracks, chips, or repairs. The gold gilding and enamel jeweling remain bright and highly detailed. Dimensions: Approximately 11-12 inches wide from handle to handle 15” Height from bottom to top. Pickup details: Cash only. (Open to reasonable offers).
