White Bird is the sequel to Wonder, the true story of Auggie Pullman, mercilessly bullied for his congenital facial deformity. While fictional in nature, White Bird picks up after Julian is expelled for his treatment of Auggie. He is visited by his grandmother (Helen Mirren) and is transformed by the story of her attempts to escape Nazi-occupied France during World War II.
