Family Festival - Discover Nature celebrating the Texas Master Naturalist
A family-friendly, free festival called “Deep in the Heartwood” will celebrate nature, community, health, Texas Arbor Day and the 20th anniversary of the local Heartwood Chapter of Texas Master Naturalist.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, at W.G. Jones State Forest located at 1328 FM 1488 in Conroe. It will feature booths from natural resource professionals, community organizations and local health partners, plus food and music. It is open to the public and will feature:
• Local experts sharing knowledge on nature, conservation, and wellness
• Guided hikes through the forest trails
• Ambassador animals you can meet up close
• A pollinator garden tour of the Heartwood Monarch Waystation to learn which native plants support local wildlife
• Native plant give-away
• Walk with a Doctor for a healthy stroll and good conversation
• Fun yard games and Exhibitor Bingo
• Dedication of a garden bench honoring the founding members of the Heartwood Chapter and the 20th anniversary
