Event Details:

  • Location: 8555 Creekside Green Dr, Spring TX 77389

  • What you need to bring: Nothing - just a competitive spirit and have fun!

  • Parents: We encourage you to stay and enjoy the event.

How the Competition Works:

  • Students work in teams of two.

  • Each team will have two laptops: one showing the working version of a mini-game, and one with the buggy Scratch code they must fix.

  • There will be two age groups with different sets of questions.

  • Each challenge question has points assigned based on difficulty, with teams tackling up to 15 challenges within one hour.

  • Instructors will walk around providing hints as needed.

  • The team with the highest total score wins!

How to Team Up: We will team you up, if you dont have a partner.

Schedule:

  • 12:00–12:15 PM: Check-in and rules explanation

  • 12:15–1:15 PM: Competition (bug-fixing challenges)

  • 1:15–1:30 PM: Prize distribution and wrap-up (There will be light snacks and juice provided)

Prizes Per Team: Teams are divided into 2 age groups: Ages 8 and under, and 10 and older.

  • 1st Prize: $80, 2nd Prize: $60, 3rd Prize: $40

Sample Question: Here’s a sample question: The Apple moves up on the screen instead of falling down at the Basket. This is what the kids need to solve. This will test their understanding of the code, the concept of the X & Y coordinate system, and also the effect of positive and negative Y-values. (this is an example - Exact questions will be adjusted for Age based categories)
