All the comforts of home will be on display throughout the month in Woodforest during the September Showcase of Homes Tour.

Twenty-six models are included on the tour, highlighting the townhomes, patio homes, luxury designs and estate homes that can be found throughout the South Montgomery County community. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

“Just as a home is more than just a house, a hometown is more than just a place to live,” said Virgil Yoakum, vice president and general manager for Woodforest. “Buyers will discover homes to fit any budget. They also see what makes us unique. Our residents are a tight-knit group that wave and smile when they see each other. The kids always have someone to play with. And when the kids are grown, our residents can retire here. It’s hometown living at its finest.”

Builders Lennar, Perry Homes and Westin Homes have opened new models in Woodforest’s Deerbourne Ridge neighborhood. The professionally-decorated models offer a look at the latest design trends in architecture and home décor. Darling Homes is expected to open another Woodforest model in the Westeroak neighborhood later this year.

Also new are a number of parks including Kingsley Park, an urban-inspired 1-acre green space that features harvest tables under café lights, an outdoor kitchen, a fire pit and event lawn.

Wallaroo Park, a fully-accessible park for children, will celebrate its grand opening Sept. 14. It offers an innovative Sona Play Arch — a dynamic structure that uses smart camera technology to measure the movement of those playing games using sound and movement.

The community also recently completed enhancements to the Stampede Sportsplex and is working on improvements at the 33-acre Christine Allen Nature Park.

Maps of the models will be available at the Woodforest Homefinder Lodge, 101 Elk Trace Parkway. Homes in Woodforest are priced from the $180,000s to the millions.
