SPRING, TX -- The Grand Oaks Grizzlies have had a phenomenal year on the volleyball court this season. Before another showdown with former state champs Kingwood Park this Friday, Grand Oaks made quick work of Willis in a 25-16, 25-16, 25-18 sweep of the Wildkats.

In what was their 12th-straight district win, Grand Oaks did what they do best, playing through their best player, Fallon Thompson, and forcing opponents into long rallies that highlight the skill that each Grizzly has on the court.

Set 1 featured plenty of kills from Thompson as she continues to dominate in District 20-5A. Whenever Willis found any sort of rhythm, the Grizzlies quickly turned up the pressure and forced Willis into making errors. Kamie Lohnes also stepped up to give Grand Oaks the early lead.

Set 2 was the best set of the night for Willis. After teams traded points early in the set, the Wildkats were able to take a slight lead twice throughout the set midway through Set 2. However, as always, when the Grizzlies needed a boost, clutch players like Thompson, as well as, Aidan Ballard and Sarah Sampson, stepped up to pull the Grizzles through to another win.

Grand Oaks showed off how tough they can be defensively in Set 3. Great blocks at the net and coming up with digs all over the court to keep rallies alive led to the 25-18 win to complete the sweep and move Grand Oaks to 12-0 in district play.
