THE WOODLANDS, TX – Quote of the week: “School’s out for summer.” – Alice Cooper and the entire faculty and student body of Conroe Independent School District

School zone traffic is hanging on for one more week, so be patient and keep an eye out on kiddos that may not typically be in classes. Lots of scholastic celebrations will go along with this week’s local high school graduations that include The Woodlands High School, Grand Oaks High School, Oak Ridge High School, and others. Whether you’re a student, teacher, administrator, parent, or just someone wanting to enjoy the impending summer, here are some events designed just for you.

Monday, May 23 - Sunday, July 31
SCFL (South County Football League) is holding ongoing registrations for its fall Cheerleading and Tackle Football programs. Whether you’re looking for a traditional cheerleading program for children ages 5-12 or a competitive, tackle football league for boys and girls in the same age bracket, there’s a program that will fit the bill. Cheerleader camp participants are taught cheers, chants, jumps, dance, basic tumbling, and game situations and cheer for fall season SCFL games. The football camp plays the majority of its games at the Gullo Park facility and competes against other teams in the league as well as those within the Lone Star Alliance.

Thursday, May 26 - Sunday, May 29
Class Act Productions proudly presents its latest production, the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein musical South Pacific. Set against the dramatic background of an idyllic South Pacific island during WWII, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific intertwines the themes of romance, duty, and prejudice to create a story that is all at once hilarious, heartbreaking, and thought-provoking.
