Carl’s Quality Cooling & Heating presents Willis couple with a new HVAC system in annual ceremony

THE WOODLANDS, TX – For the tenth year in a row, the staff at Carl’s Quality Cooling & Heating have delivered a Christmas miracle to a local resident in need. Since 2016, founder and owner Carl Schweikhardt has provided families with a complete and installed heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system free of charge in the spirit of the holidays.

With nominations running through several weeks in December, the family chosen to receive this year’s gift were John and Belinda Land, a longtime married couple residing in Willis. The entire neighborhood community rallied around the Lands’ nomination, making them the perfect recipient of a new air conditioning and heating system.

The Lands are well known for their community presence in Willis, Conroe, and beyond. They are ardent supporters of the local theatre scene – their son Colton is a rising star on stage – and are a steadfast presence at public events.

Though John is a veteran of the United States Air Force, he and his wife found themselves in dire straits with their lack of heating and air conditioning in their Willis home. Things became worse when they attempted to light their gas fireplace only to have the house fill with the smell of leaking gas.

Ironically, it was the Lands’ giving nature that rendered them unable to replace their own system.

“They work, they make money; but they’re always giving it away to those they feel need it more,” said a neighbor. “They’re always giving, and it’s time they got something back.”

On December 23, a team from Carl’s descended upon the Land house and surprise-presented them with their gift, which visibly moved him. Woodlands Online accompanied the team and live-streamed the reveal event, capturing the holiday spirit and the gratitude of the deserving couple.
