Newman CRE Installs 19 Mature Oaks at Gosling Oaks Development

SPRING,TX -- Newman Commercial Real Estate has installed 19 mature 30-foot Overcup Oak trees at Gosling Oaks, a 50-plus-acre mixed-use development located at the intersection of Gosling Road and West Rayford Road near the southern entrance to The Woodlands.

The installation follows the company’s 2023 relocation of three large heritage live oaks within the development site to prevent them from being removed during land clearing.

At the time, owner Nate Newman emphasized the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship, stating, “Whenever we’re doing these projects, we want to make sure we’re doing them the right way. And for me I felt a strong conviction that we are called to be stewards of the land.”

The addition of 19 mature canopy trees follows extensive infrastructure work and helps establish immediate scale while reinforcing the project’s integration of preserved natural elements.

Gosling Oaks is planned to include approximately 120,000 square feet of retail and medical office space, outparcel pad sites, activated public greenspaces and a multifamily component. Positioned at the southern entrance to The Woodlands, the development incorporates gathering areas and outdoor common spaces into the overall site plan.

With infrastructure now complete, the site is fully shovel-ready following significant preparation work. Newman moved more than 300,000 cubic yards of earth, excavated 16 acres of detention and mitigation ponds, and extended public utilities to the property. A 380-unit Class A multifamily complex is currently underway on the back 13.5 acres of the site, while leasing of retail, office and pad sites is underway.
