Lone Star College-Montgomery celebrates student success at graduation ceremony
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Pomp and Circumstance marked the celebration of student success during the Lone Star College-Montgomery 2026 Graduation Ceremony. More than 2,150 degrees and certifications were awarded, with nearly 600 participants in the college’s largest commencement ceremony.
“Today is a celebration, not just of academic achievement, but of unwavering perseverance, transformative growth and the countless defining moments that have brought us here tonight,” said Dr. De' Reese Reid-Hart, LSC-Montgomery president during the ceremony. “Today is truly their day and we are honored to share it with them.”
The celebration was highlighted by LSC-Montgomery Class of 2026 student Eminelys Sanchez-Viera who participated in the commencement address saying “as we stand here today, I want you to remember this; your journey does not have to look like anyone else’s to be meaningful. Your past does not define your future. Wherever you are right now, you are capable of building something greater for yourself.”
Also taking part in the commencement address were Stephen Murphy, assistant professor of Government and David Kennedy, professor of Government.
“Each of you will continue to play a role in shaping the culture of the communities of which you are a part,” said Kennedy who joined the college as a founding faculty member in 1995.
“Tonight is a historic occasion as we celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2026 and recognize 30 years of excellence at Lone Star College-Montgomery,” said Reid-Hart. “This milestone reflects a strong legacy of opportunity, progress, and student achievement that continues to shape our campus and community.”
