About Us

The Woodlands High School Lady Highlander Varsity Softball Team competes in District 15-6A. Home of the 2011 Texas State and National Champions, 2014 Texas State Finalists, and 2015 State Semi-Finalists.

The Lady Highlanders are led by Head Coach Tim Borths. Coach Borths has been teaching and coaching in The Woodlands since 2003. In the fall of 2005, he joined the TWHS Softball Staff as the Varsity Assistant and helped the program win it's first playoff game as that team went all of the way to the regional quarterfinals in 2006. He was part of several more deep playoff runs before the Highlanders were able to finally KICK IT IN and bring the state and national championship home to The Woodlands in 2011 with a 44-1 record.

Borths is a graduate of Clear Creek High School in League City, TX and earned his BBA and teaching certificate from The University of Texas at Austin and his Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University. Coach Borths and his wife, Katie, were married in 2005 and they were blessed with the arrival of their sons, Ryan, in October 2008 and Justin, in April 2011. Softball is a family affair for the Borths' as Ryan's impending arrival was announced at the College Park game the season before when Katie wore a subtle t-shirt to the game while Justin was born in-between the CP and Conroe games during the last week of district play that year. Now they can be seen at the games with Katie cheering on the girls and chasing foul balls.
