About Esprit
Esprit International School is an accredited Montessori and authorized IB World School serving ages 3 through 12th grade students. We were founded in 1999 with a dedication to providing children a world-class education of the mind and heart. Our goal is to nurture self-confidence, encourage personal creativity, and support the entrepreneurial spirit in the growing child. Students at Esprit proceed through an exciting and challenging course of studies at a highly individualized pace. Esprit is a school with a rigorous, yet innovative, academic program. We offer a supportive academic atmosphere, yet set a high level of expectation for the quality of thought, work, and mastery of content and skills within each program.
Our Philosophy
Esprit International School is an independent, non-sectarian school with a diverse student population enrolling children ages 3yrs - 12th Grade. The school's philosophy is inspired by the educational thought of Dr. Maria Montessori, and the models for the classrooms and for the developmental learning materials were created by her. The school continues her work in developmental psychology and education, yet incorporates components of the learning premises of a number of leading educational theorists including Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson, Lev Vygotsky and Eric Jensen.
The child and their needs are the central and commanding focus of the learning process at Esprit. It is the role of the teacher and of the school to observe, to know and to support the child as he or she proceeds through their stages of development. Each child has unlimited possibilities and the future rests on our ability to cultivate this potential.
