About Us

Dr. Lorianna Alemán-Maymí earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan and her medical degree at the Iberoamerican University in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She completed an internship at Hospital el Maestro in San Juan, Puerto Rico, a residency at Ramon E. Betances Hospital-Mayaguez Medical Center in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Permian Basin.

Dr. Alemán-Maymí, who is board-certified in endocrinology and internal medicine, has been in practice since 2013 and speaks Spanish. She sees patients of all ages for hormone imbalances, diabetes, thyroid conditions, pituitary gland imbalance, adrenal dysfunctions, menopause and obesity. Her primary clinical interest is thyroid issues.

Dr. Alemán-Maymí's approach to care is to listen carefully to a patient, consider the person's history and lifestyle and, in partnership, come up with the treatment plan that works best. She wants her patients to feel comfortable, heard and motivated.
