2024 College Park Cavaliers Football Team
Year one of the Kyle Coats Experience saw a rocky start turn into a potential playoff bid as the 2023 Season continued.
An 0-2 record during out-of-district play hung doubt on the Cavaliers headed into their district schedule. Following the tough stretch, the headstrong College Park squad went on their best win streak of the season, rattling off three straight wins to climb the district standings. The team went on to lose 3 of their next 4, but there was still hope for a playoff spot if the team could overcome Conroe. Unfortunately for the Cavs, the Tigers toppled them 49-28, thus ending an action-packed year for College Park.
The team's 4-6 overall record last season marked a one-win improvement from 2022, and signs point to the team contending in Coats' second year.
College Park's season opener will be on Saturday, August 31st against Cypress Park, but their date against Conroe on September 9th will be one they have all their attention toward.
Reliable pieces will return on both sides of the ball for College Park, so if the Cavs can learn from last season's mistakes, they will be a team on the hunt for a district title and a playoff spot.
