Vintage Divided Serving Tray by Pfaltzgraff Pottery Gourmet Brown Drip
Good Condition.
This is a vintage divided serving tray (also called a relish tray, cheese tray, or hors d’oeuvres tray) made by Pfaltzgraff Pottery, an American stoneware manufacturer founded in 1828. It’s from their “Gourmet Brown Drip” pattern, which features a tan/ivory stoneware body with a glossy dark brown drip glaze in the compartments—a mid-20th-century style popular in the 1960s–1970s for casual entertaining. The “#40” in the backstamp refers to the model or shape number, and the “USA” marking indicates it was produced at their York, Pennsylvania factory before much of their production shifted overseas.
The rectangular design has three compartments (one larger rectangular section and two smaller ones below it) for separating foods like cheeses, crackers, dips, or relishes. It measures approximately 15.5 inches long by 5.5 inches wide and is oven-, microwave-, dishwasher-, and freezer-safe, typical for Pfaltzgraff stoneware.
