Victorian whatnot shelf (also known as an etagere) - Antique Photos
Description
Good Condition. 19th Century. Pick up Grogans Mill. Will consign this piece in the morning.
It's a freestanding display piece made of dark wood (possibly mahogany or walnut) with multiple graduated tiers of scalloped shelves, beveled mirrors on several levels, and ornate cast metal brackets providing structural and decorative support. These were popular for displaying knick-knacks, curios, or small ornaments in Victorian homes.
