Good Condition.
This appears to be a vintage decorative orb or paperweight, likely from the mid-20th century or earlier, made primarily of compressed cork with ornate brass mountings, including a lion's head finial and supportive arms around the sphere. The square base is also cork, possibly for stability and to prevent surface scratching. Similar cork and brass decorative objects, such as pen holders or dioramas, often originate from European or American makers and were popular in Art Deco or Victorian-inspired designs.
